Many of the disappearances in Mexico are tied to violent activity by drug cartels. This weekend, news broke that Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán, Mexico's most wanted drug lord, narrowly slipped away from authorities yet again.
Mexican officials reportedly had him cornered in a remote mountain hideout, but Guzman managed to evade capture. He's been at large since escaping a prison in July.
