The Role Of Sex In Marriage Is Changing – It Might Be Taking A Backseat
Can a sexless marriage be a happy one? That’s the title of a recent New York Times article which inspired today's conversation on AirTalk. The role that sex has played in marriage has changed throughout the decades. Where once we considered sex to be of utmost importance in a healthy and functioning marriage, we now are beginning to recognize that intimacy may trump the role of sex. Sex therapists and psychotherapists are increasingly asking “How can one person provide everything you need?” The short answer is, they can’t. As new relationship models, practices, and ways of talking about pleasure and sex enter our purview, we may find that a sexless relationship doesn’t mean a bad one. Joining us today on AirTalk to talk about the changing role of sex in partnership is freelance writer and author of the book “TOUCHED OUT: Motherhood, Misogyny, Consent, & Control,” Amanda Montei and MFT and sex therapist based in Los Angeles, Moushumi Ghose.
Walking CicLAvia On Venice Boulevard? Try Out Some Oaxacan Cuisine At ‘Quiadaiyn’
The Zapotec word ‘Quiadaiyn’, pronounced ‘kia-dine’, translates to ‘summit of a hill or a mountain’, so why not treat yourself to some delicious Oaxacan food while summiting the nearly six mile path of Venice Boulevard carved out for this Sunday’s CicLAvia? Located on the corner of Centinela and Venice the restaurant is conveniently placed at the near midpoint between the two streets comprising the latest in Metro’s city streets walking event. A family run restaurant with roots in Oaxaca some of their signature dishes include various moles (try the mole negro for a real treat), chile relleno made from the chile de agua native to Oaxaca, and the 12-inch tortilla based Tlayuda mixta.
Today on AirTalk, we celebrate some of the best Oaxacan food Los Angeles has to offer with a couple of the family members who run ‘Quiadaiyn’. Joining us to talk about Oaxacan cuisine in all its spice and savor, and why they love sharing it with LA, are Hector Martinez, founder and co-owner of Quiadaiyn and Elizabeth Martinez, employee of Quiadaiyn and daughter of Hector.

FilmWeek Feature: Larry Talks To The Zellner Brothers, Directors of ‘Sasquatch Sunset’
David and Nathan Zellners’ latest feature, ‘Sasquatch Sunset,’ is an unconventional story about a Sasquatches family living in the woods of California’s Humboldt County. The film’s presentation has qualities not much different than popular live nature cams you’ll find today, making for a narrative that has less to do with structure and is more focused on a “day in the life” of fictional creatures. Today on FilmWeek, we hear about the process of filming “Sasquatch Sunset” with brothers David and Nathan Zellner.
Sasquatch Sunset is now in wide release.
