California Dems Are Divided Over War In Gaza, Handling By Biden Admin
Demonstrators demanding a cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas war prompted California Democratic Party officials to cancel evening events during their state convention on Saturday “for the safety and security of our delegates.” California Democrats met in Sacramento over the weekend to consider candidate endorsements ahead of the March primary; the convention gave opportunity for U.S. Senate candidates and other elected positions to gain support of Democratic coalitions and receive endorsements. This follows a notable divide for the Democratic party as the war in Gaza has left members throughout the party either supporting President Biden’s approach or disapproving of it. Joining us today is Jeremy B. White, Politico reporter covering California politics and policy, and Benjamin Oreskes, LA Times reporter covering state and national politics.

How LA County’s Seawater Infrastructure Has Helped Prevent Cross-Contamination To Our Water Supply
If you were to run or bike from El Segundo to Palos Verdes, you’d have a stunning view of the ocean to your right, with beautiful homes and the mountains to your left and a whole lot of traffic whizzing by. Tucked into random neighborhoods are 159 injection wells, spaced every 150 to 850 feet, pumping 9,000 gallons of water every minute into the permeable rock below, forming a defensive wall of water that’s keeping the sea from creeping inland and contaminating our freshwater supply.
Today on AirTalk, we talk to LAist science reporter Jacob Margolis as to how these seawater barriers in Los Angeles County help maintain our freshwater supply from getting contaminated and the history behind it.

Joining us today to discuss his reporting is Steve Lopez, columnist for the Los Angeles Times, and Steve Gordon, director of the California Department of Motor Vehicles.
