The Huntington Library and Botanical Garden is celebrating the 300th birthday of Carl Linnaeus, the man who created the system for naming plants and animals.

Is this mellifera ligustica? Mellifera scutellata? Mellifera carnica? None of the above? We couldn't even ask the question if it weren't for Carl Linnaeus, father of the two-part biological naming system.
