Kevin Roderick continues his tour of the San Fernando Valley with a story about the Basque shepherds who settled around Encino.
In this circa 1935 photo, a Basque shepherd poses with his sheep dog. Kevin Roderick says there used to be a lot of Basques around Encino, as you can tell from some of the street names.
