LA Times writer Betty Hallock says a few cocktail bars are trying to impose order on chaos by enforcing a few rules... Like no cell phones, no shouting, and no big parties.

"Ambassador Hotel bartender Ramiro Siguentes ends a 25-year career at the noted hotel on January 3, 1989, by serving the last Ambassador Cooler. The drink contains rum, sloe gin, grenadine, pineapple and orange juice."
