Airport Beautification
LA Times reporter Steve Hymon takes on the regional airport stalemate and endorses John's idea of putting up pretty murals at the airports to distract disgruntled passengers.
A radical plan for LAX, circa 1968. The airport would be on a new island, serviced by subway and causeway, with two 15,000 foot runways for SST's. The island would also have included shopping, hotels, art center, apartments, parks and beaches, an aerospace university, and a sports center.
