  • Tonight Brooklyn-based indie rock quartet Obits will be headlining the Echo. LA-based indie pop quartet Robotanists are poised to grace LaBrie's in Glendale with none other than local blues-infused indie rock duo Rumspringa (LAist Review, #2) and Vanaprasta in tow. And, lastly, Irvine-bred electro pop trio Faded Paper Figures will be performing at Spaceland, ringing in their sophomore record—2010's New Medium. But we strongly suggest heading over to the El Rey Theatre to catch English folk singer-songwriter Laura Marling, who recently released her second studio-album—2010's Mercury Prize-nominated I Speak Because I Can. LAist favorite, Shreveport-bred folk singer-songwriter Dylan Leblanc is slated to kick things off.

  • Tonight Aussie electro pop trio Midnight Juggernauts will be headlining the Echo, ringing in their sophomore studio-album—2010's The Crystal Axis. Local folk-infused indie rock outfit Mississippi Man are poised to conclude their month-long residency at the Echo. And, lastly, Silver Lake-based indie rockers Summer Darling will be doing the same at Spaceland. But we strongly suggest heading over to Bardot to catch Conor J. O'Brien, or Villagers rather, a critically-acclaimed, young Dubliner who is making waves with his Mercury Prize-nominated debut—2010's Becoming a Jackal. He will be performing solo tonight, but we'd like to think that it'll be appropriately intimate and all too genuine. LAist favorite, local folk rock troubadour Ferraby Lionheart is poised to perform as well.
  • Tonight Oakland-based lo-fi garage punk visionary Justin Champlin, otherwise known as Nobunny, will be headlining the Echo. LAist favorites, local experimental psych folk duo Gangi's (LAist Review) are performing for the first time in a long while at the Bootleg Theater with none other than LA's own experimental music/art group Lucky Dragons and Swahili Blonde. And, lastly, New Jersey lo-fi duo Slow Animal will be concluding their sojourn here in LA, wrapping things up with a free in-store performance at Origami Vinyl. But we strongly suggest heading over to the hole-and-corner Pehrspace to catch local folk songbird Victoria Noll.

Phoenix-by-way-of-LA indie pop quartet Miniature Tigers (LAist Interview, Review) are poised to take on Spaceland with none other than local indie pop quartet Superhumanoids, who will be ringing in their latest EP—2010's Urgency. And, lastly, LAist's favorite instrumental act Signal Hill will be gracing the hole-and-corner Pehrspace. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Echoplex to catch Wild Records' 'A Night of 1950's Style Punk.' LAist favorites, local rockabilly act Luis & The Wildfires, among many other Wild Records mainstays are slated to perform.
  • Videothing will be holding a closing party tonight at the Strange Gallery tonight from 8-12 PM. Crystal Antlers, Acockalipz, and Graham Forest are slated to perform.
  • Tonight San Diegan rockers Delta Spirit (LAist Interview) will be headlining the El Rey Theatre with none other than local folk rockers the Romany Rye in tow. San Francisco-by-way-of-Santa Cruz psych-tinged rock sextet Sleepy Sun are poised to grace Spaceland. And, lastly, New Jersey lo-fi duo Slow Animal will be taking on Echo Curio. But we strongly suggest doing whatever it takes to get into the Music Box at Henry Fonda to catch Swedish electro pop chanteuse Robyn, who recently released her fifth studio album—2010's Body Talk Pt. 1. NY-based R&B-turned-electro-pop singer-songwriter Kelis, who has unexpectedly rebounded from her "Milkshake" days by pairing up with some of the most prominent dance/electronic producers of our time, and London-based electro pop maestro Dan Black are poised to perform as well.
  • Tonight local folk troubadour Ferraby Lionheart (LAist Interview, Review) will be gracing the Hammer Museum with none other than local indie rock act Voxhaul Broadcast for this week's edition of 'Also I Like To Rock.' LA-based indie rock quintet the Sea of Cortez, who are touring in anticipation of their yet-to-be-released studio debut, 2010's Make It Sound, are poised to take on Silver Lake Lounge. And, lastly, local experimental indie pop quartet Hands will be taking on the Atwater Village Theater with electro pop trio Twin Falcons. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Bootleg Theater to catch Chicagoan indie rock quartet Maps & Atlases, who will be ringing in their Barsuk-released debut studio-album—2010's Perch Patchwork. LAist favorites, NY-based retro 60s pop duo Cults are slated to kick things off.
  • Tonight critically acclaimed Sussex-based pop rockers Keane will be headlining the Greek Theatre. Nashville-based alternative rock super-group the Dead Weather are poised to perform at the Hollywood Palladium with none other than Austin-based garage rockers Harlem (LAist Interview, Review, #2) Irish folk pop duo the Guggenheim Grotto will be taking on the third night of their month-long residency at the Hotel Café in celebration of their third studio-album, 2010's The Universe Is Laughing, warming up the stage for Chris Shiflett of Foo Fighters fame. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Airliner in Lincoln Heights to catch local experimental electronic mastermind Ryan York, who performs under the pseudonym Asura.
