A teacher in Orange County was arrested on Thursday on charges of having sexual contact with a 14-year-old female student, reports ABC News. Joshua Alexander Evans, 32, was taken into custody after the girl's mother reported that the two had kissed on the mouth and embraced at another student's house.

Westside book borrowers, rejoice -- the Montana Avenue branch of the Santa Monica Public Library will reopen tomorrow after being closed for renovations. A 16-year-old boy hid from police for three hours last night in a house in Del Rey after attempting to rob someone by pretending to have a handgun. The boy was thwarted in his would-be robbery by a passer-by, reports CNS, who sprayed him with Mace during the attempt at about 9:00 p.m.
