What I cover
As the Director of Content Development at LAist, I manage the on-demand team and oversee various podcasts, including The L.A. Report. I am also the Executive Producer of LAist’s award-winning podcasts Imperfect Paradise and Inheriting.
My background
I’ve been a journalist for more than 20 years. Previously, I was the Senior Supervising Editor/Producer of NPR’s flagship show Morning Edition and podcast Up First. Before joining NPR, I worked at several other networks, including CNN, CNN International and CBS. I was also a reporter for ABC and NBC TV affiliate stations. My work has received multiple Peabody Awards, Emmy nominations, an Ambie, Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award, Los Angeles Press Club awards, among other honors.
My goals
With every story across all our LAist on-demand shows, my goal is for our journalism to broaden and deepen people’s understanding of our diverse communities across Southern California, elevate overlooked but important people and topics, and provide clarity on complicated issues with nuanced reporting and captivating storytelling. It’s important those stories are easily accessible and readily available for audiences on-demand and across multiple platforms.
