Body and Soul was one the country's most regarded house music affairs. With tunes spun by a legendary trio of house DJs, each individually renowned -- Francois Kevorkian, Joe Claussell, and Danny Krivit -- Body and Soul was a day of global rhythms from disco to techno. Literally a day -- this weekly was from Sunday afternoon to Sunday evening. The trio no longer does it weekly (a few times a year in NYC,)...

Word on the street was BOA Steakhouse's Truffled Cheese Fries were worth some real estate in my gut. A recent visit to BOA's Ocean-Adjacent location in Santa Monica proved that to be true. This extra-large "family style" side dish expanded my idea of what makes "cheese fries" (and my waistline.) These BOA Artery Constrictors are classy and crafted for discerning adults -- they're awash in Gruyere cheese and feature truffle oil.

With the recent megasuspension of Dodgers superslugger Manny Ramirez, every American has been wondering: "is Manny Ramirez a murdering rapist?" Speaking publicly yesterday, for the first time in over a month, Ramirez put that to bed, reports MLB.com. "I didn't kill nobody, I didn't rape nobody," said the man with the surprise vacation. The latest installment of "Ice Age" is soon to arrive in theaters. To announce this now-trilogy's release, Los Angeles drivers are greeted by an extendo-billboard featuring the film's protagonist. His prominent, elongated nose, and pair of chubby cheeks are impossible to miss. Some may feel that this nut-clutcher offers an uncanny resemblance to the business end of the male reproductive system. His woodland critter pals seem to be snickering at something. What do you think? Comment Below!

ESPN Radio's "All Night" host, Jason Smith (LAist Interview) recently received a special tour of the Staples Center. His guide was by AEG's V.P. of Communications, Michael Roth (AEG owns Staples.) In a wonderfully colorful and humorous piece on ESPN Radio's site, Smith wrote of the unique way the pair emerged into the Lakers' home . "We started out by entering the Nokia Theater, where concerts and events like the ESPYS are held on...

Silver Lake's Cafe Tropical is a tasty oasis in the rarely-Cuban desert that is Los Angeles. Their Cuban sandwich (sandwich cubano) and Cuban coffee (cafe cubano) do the trick. The sandwich -- where ham, roasted pork, cheese, pickles, mustard, and Cuban bread are dance partners -- is mixture that makes Communism seen tolerable. And the coffee... this espresso-based stimulant, layered with steamed milk, will light your fire and please your palate. Tropical's many oversized deserts are a topic for a future nosh.

Despite KLSX 97.1's recent format change to Top 40, morning-talker Adam Carolla promises to keep his gums moving. Long-time staple of LA radio (he hosted Loveline for ten years with Dr. Drew Pinsky,) Carolla will launch a daily podcast on Monday via his new website. The Aceman says -- For now, it’ll be very stripped down and barebones, but with the help of fans like yourselves, there’s no reason we can’t grow this into...
