What I cover
I report on the region’s art, artists and creative communities, as well as the news of the day that gives the LAist audience what it needs to know to navigate life in Southern California.
My background
I was born in Mexico City and grew up in Tijuana and San Diego. I’ve put in a lot of miles driving around Southern California to report, and that’s led me to love how distinct each neighborhood is in geography, architecture, warmth and food. I've reported for LAist for 25 years, covering arts, politics, education and many other topics.
My goals
I want to highlight how people connect with each other through arts, culture and more.
