Vintage Videos: Hollywood Boulevard in the 1940s, 50s, & 60s
Hooray for Hollywood...Boulevard. While the street is enjoying a protracted renaissance thanks to bars, restaurants, retail, and residences, it wasn't oh-so-long ago the street had a dark and gritty rep for being a magnet of the city's underbelly. But of course, in the mid 20th century, Hollywood Boulevard still had a magical allure for not just tourists, but locals, too, who trod the pavement hoping to make a break in radio, film, or television, and the celebs who enjoyed the nightlife.
