Seth MacFarlane and Night Vision Entertainment hosted a "Family Guy" party at the Avalon on Friday night that celebrated the show's nomination as Best Comedy Series - the first time an animated show has been nominated in that category in over 50 years!

It seemed like most of Hollywood turned out to drink Belvedere and Jack Daniels while chowing down tray after tray of Sprinkles cupcakes. The combination of alcohol and sugar resulted in some tipsy behavior but everyone appeared to be having a great time. The TV Junkie stuck to Red Leaf water because it was intimidating enough to talk to the man of the night, Seth MacFarlane, who admirably serenaded the crowd over two sets of Rat Pack and Big Band era tunes.

The house band was the 44-piece orchestra that powers the "Family Guy" soundtracks. When they closed the live performance with huge-sounding versions of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" and "Beat It" the commotion on the dance floor turned out to be Brigitte Nielsen clearing out some space in order to get her Amazonian groove on.

Celebs we interviewed other than MacFarlane included: World Heavyweight Champion Wladimir Klitschko (talk about intimidating!), perennial E! host Sal Masekela, Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton, and in the below video, the stunning and very friendly Alyssa Milano (who is also an LAist reader and re-Tweeter!), C.S. Lee and David Zayas from Showtime's "Dexter", and pro-snowboarder/"Dancing With The Stars" competitor Louie Vito.
