The 97th Academy Awards ceremony kicks off at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood this Sunday at 4 p.m. In preparation for the Oscars, organizers and the City of Los Angeles have announced numerous street closures, both ahead of and following the show.
What’s in effect:
- All lanes of Hollywood Boulevard are currently closed from Orange Drive to Highland Avenue. They’ll reopen at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, March 5.
Starting Saturday, Mar. 1 until 6 a.m. on Monday, March 3
- Metro will re-route bus traffic and subway trains will bypass the Ovation Hollywood station until 6 a.m. on Monday, March 3.
- Orchid Avenue from south of Franklin Boulevard to Johnny Grant Way will be closed.
- Orange Drive from Johnny Grant Way to Hollywood Boulevard will be closed
- The north and south sidewalk of Hawthorn Avenue from Highland Avenue to Orange Drive will be closed.

- On the day of the show, the remainder of Hawthorn Alley from Orange Drive to Highland Avenue will be closed beginning at midnight until 6 a.m. on Monday.
- Orange Drive from Hollywood Boulevard to Lanewood Avenue will also be closed until 6 a.m. on Monday
- At 4 a.m., the north and south crosswalks on Hollywood Boulevard at the Highland Avenue intersection will be closed until 4 a.m. on Monday. As well as Highland Avenue from Sunset Boulevard to Franklin Avenue, Hollywood Boulevard from La Brea Ave to Orange Drive, and Hollywood Boulevard from Highland Avenue to Cahuenga Boulevard.
