Topline:

Santa Monica College and all its campuses were closed Tuesday after a shooting Monday night on campus injured an employee.

What we know: At approximately 9:50 p.m. an employee was shot at the college’s Center for Media and Design. The condition of the employee is unknown at this time and the Santa Monica Police Department is actively searching for the shooter.

In a statement on X, Santa Monica PD said they believe the shooting to be "an isolated incident and there is no information suggesting there is a threat to the community."
