Another Urban Hike: Walk a Portion of Route 66 this Sunday

Last weekend, it was over 100 hidden staircases between downtown and the Hollywood sign. This Sunday the Location Managers Guild of America will bring the second of a series of six walks along Route 66, says the blog Franklin Avenue.
This weekend's walk will cover 9.4 miles from West Hollywood to Union Station in downtown. It will begin at Barney's Beanery and follow Santa Monica Boulevard through Hollywood where it will merge on to Sunset Boulevard traveling toward downtown, ending at Traxx Bar inside the station. An optional 1.3-mile extension ends at Clifton's Brookdale Cafeteria, the original ending of Route 66 at 7th & Broadway.
As with last week's urban hike, the pubic is welcome to join. The first in this historical walking series was held last November with a 9.5 mile walk between the Santa Monica Pier and West Hollywood. Part 3, from Union Station to South Pasadena, will be held on August 23.
