Too bad, Too Short! The pioneering West Coast rapper and L.A. native was busted early Wednesday morning on suspicion of a DUI and narcotics violations while behind the wheel in Hollywood.

46-year-old Too Short, née Todd Anthony Shaw, was pulled over for a traffic violation, according to TMZ, and officers with the Los Angeles Police Department suspected he was driving under the influence.

Apparently Too Short didn't want to stick around, though, to confirm his alleged intoxication. He reportedly tried to take off when the cops attempted to administer a breathalyzer test. The rapper appeared to trip, though, when running down the street, making him an easy catch for the cops, who cuffed him and put him in the back of a police cruiser.

The LAPD confirm the arrest took place on Hollywood Boulevard near Las Palmas, at around 3 .am. according to City News Service.

Apparently on the ride to the station, Too Short was still in a ditching mood, as he allegedly "tried to dump narcotics in the back of the cruiser." Come on, Too Short! It's too late to do that if you're already in the cop car. (Too soon?)

The LAPD say Shaw was booked on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and possession of drugs.
