Cox customers in OC now get to watch Dodger games on TV for the first time in years
Topline:
Dodgers games are now available to former Cox Communications customers on the team's sports channel, SportsNet LA. The channel returned Thursday following Charter Communications’ $34.5 billion acquisition of Cox Communications.
Why it matters: For several years, Cox Communications refused to carry SportsNet LA because of licensing fees. With the acquisition, customers in Orange County, Palos Verdes, San Diego and others will move into the Spectrum network and get the channel.
Officials said: “Together, we will bring the best products, at the best price, coupled with the highest level of customer service to more customers across our expanded 45-state Spectrum footprint,” Chris Winfrey, president and CEO of Charter, said in a statement.
What to catch: Tonight, the Dodgers play the Pittsburgh Pirates at home with game time set for 7:10 p.m.
For more information: Former Cox customers subscribed to Contour TV in Orange County can find SportsNet LA on channel 63 and channel 54 in Palos Verdes. Customers can visit SportsNetLA.com for more on the network.
