RENEE MONTAGNE, host:

Careful parents will have to look really hard to find American made toys when they do their Christmas shopping this year. And that's the topic of out last word in business.

Little Tikes - that' a company, not a kid - says it's talking to its lawyers to figure out which of its products may be labeled made in the U.S.A. And that's going to be tricky since the to maker does outsource some of its manufacturing to China. Really only the simplest toys, those without any electronic parts, are 100 percent American made these days. So wooden alphabet blocks and rattles are an option, or there's the classic Slinky.

Okay, so these toys will keep kids safe but may not keep kids eager for the latest thing from getting the Christmas blues. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
