'Father of Human-Powered Flight' Dies

Paul MacCready Jr., known as the "father of human-powered flight," for designing the first aircraft to make a sustained, controlled flight powered solely by a human, has died. He was 81.
Bryan Allen, a software engineer in the area of Mars exploration at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, talks with Melissa Block. Allen was the pilot for MacCready's Gossamer Condor, which logged a 7 1/2-minute flight, and for his Gossamer Albatross, which crossed the English Channel.
