Alaskans Purify the Spirit with Steam Baths

If you want to get clean, take a bath or shower and use a little soap. Right? Not so for many residents of the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta is southwest Alaska.
Alaska native Yupii there believe showers just get a person a little clean. If you want to be really clean, you need to open your pores with a hot steam bath. They say it not only cleans the body, but purifies the mind and spirit as well.
