Supporters of the effort to recall Gov. Gavin Newsom have until Wednesday to turn in signatures. They need 1.5 million valid signatures to get the effort on the ballot.

Newsom has largely ignored the attempt to oust him from office, but this morning he fired off some tweets.

"I won't be distracted by this partisan, Republican recall -- but I will fight it. There is too much at stake."

Today, he launched a political committee to raise money to defend his seat if the measure makes it on the ballot.
