Topline:

The Dodgers beat the Toronto Blue Jays Monday night in Game 3 of the World Series. It was L.A.'s first home game in the series, and it was epic. Dodgers won with a walk-off home run from Freddie Freeman in the 18th inning. At more than 6.5 hours, the fierce contest was an instant classic.

About that homer

I want more details: We have them here.

Where do things stand? Dodgers are now up 2-1 after two games in Toronto and one at home. Now, the Dodgers have two more games at home with a chance to win the best-of-seven series at Chavez Ravine.

Who pitched? Tyler Glasnow was the starting pitcher for the Dodgers. He follows Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who pitched all of Game 2 — a rare feat. By the end of the game, the Dodgers used 10 pitchers, including a clutch appearance by Clayton Kershaw.

About Shohei Ohtani: MLB.com notes that the Dodgers superstar became the first player to ever reach base nine times in the postseason. After punishing Toronto at the plate early in the game — two doubles and two homers — Ohtani was walked five times — four intentional.

How to get there: If you are lucky enough to have tickets for any home game, you can catch a free ride on Metro's Dodger Express Bus from Union Station in downtown or the multiple locations in the South Bay, including the Harbor Gateway Transit Center in Gardena. Plan ahead, the express runs every 10 minutes and starts 2.5 hours before game time.

Didn't get a ticket? The game was broadcast live on Fox, Channel 11.

History in the making: The Dodgers won the World Series last year, making them the defending champions. If they clinch the championship this year, it will be the first time a team pulled off a consecutive win since the New York Yankees won three in a row from 1998-2000.

Where to eat: If you're looking to catch a meal before or after the game, LAist has you covered. Here's our list of places to eat and drink near Dodger Stadium.

Trying to catch a game? LAist is offering tickets to Game 5 of the World Series at Dodger Stadium. A donation in any amount enters you to win a pair of Field Level tickets on Wednesday. You can enter here and go Dodgers!
