All 7 Los Angeles County Animal Care Centers will be open on for special adoption hours between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The decision to open on a Sunday follows a large-scale animal seizure from a Lake Hughes animal facility on Friday, where more than 300 cats and dogs were rescued in the operation.

L.A. County Animal Care and Control says the new arrivals are adding significant demand on their staff and resources. Care Center officials say adoption is the most impactful way to help these animals.
