Some areas are off limits as Santa Monica pilot e-scooter program rolls out
Santa Monica officials on Monday announced details of their new pilot program for shared e-scooters and bikes, and the new rules that will go along with it.
Riders will need to wear helmets, ride in bike lanes or on the streets, carry their licenses and limit themselves to one rider per scooter. The scooters will slow down or stop when it enters a place that's off limits.
