Today's the California voter registration deadline for Nov. 2
Today’s the deadline to register to vote in next month’s election. If you’re a registered voter, you have one more week to mail in early ballots.
Nearly half of Riverside County voters are expected to vote ahead of schedule.
The county registrar has sent out nearly 400,000 absentee ballots. About a thousand Riverside County voters have already filled them out.
Including Senator Barbara Boxer, who lives in Rancho Mirage. "It's easy," says Boxer. She cast her ballot at the county registrar’s office in Riverside last week.
The senator is seeking her fourth consecutive term. She holds a narrow lead over her Republican challenger, former Hewlett-Packard chief Carly Fiorina.
“Regardless of how you vote, please vote, it is so very important," says Boxer. "You can vote in person of course on Election Day, November 2. Or in many counties like Riverside County you can vote early now; the important thing is to get that ballot in the mail by October 26."
Riverside County also has dozens of ballot drop-off locations. Almost 60 percent of county voters cast absentee ballots in last June’s primary election.
