Rain, sleet or snow, it's busy season for Southland postal workers
Weather forecasters expect the rain to continue in the Southland. While many of us can come in out of the rain, plenty of people have to go out in it – and stay there - to get their work done. One postal worker in Venice says that's fine with her.
"It really feels good to deliver in the rain," says Cheryl Leffall as she grabs another arm-load of letters and packages out of the back of US Postal Service Truck.
"It’s no problem with me. I like it better than the heat."
Leffall delivers for the U.S. Postal service in the Venice area of Los Angeles, and on the busiest day of the year at the post office, she hit her route on the streets of the Venice area donning a rain jacket and hat to keep warm and dry. She's got customers to keep happy.
"They may get their mail late, it’ll be wet, but it’ll get there," she says.
Despite the sporadic rain, she was right on schedule. This time of year, that means a lot to her.
"We want to make sure everybody gets their parcels and their Christmas gifts on time. "
