Pomona SWAT officer honored in memorial service
Officer Shaun Diamond, a 16-year police veteran, was shot Tuesday morning while serving a search warrant in San Gabriel. He died early Wednesday, October 29, 2014.

Pomona police planned to honor a slain SWAT officer with a memorial service late Thursday morning in Pomona.
Officer Shaun Diamond was shot during a search at a suspected motorcycle gang member's home in late October. He died later at a hospital.
The service was scheduled to start at 10 a.m., to be followed by a procession of emergency vehicles that will pass through downtown Pomona before reaching Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Covina, according to a statement from police.
Thousands of people were expected to attend the remembrance at Ontario Citizens Business Bank Arena, according to the Associated Press.

Gov. Jerry Brown and Attorney General Kamala Harris, who both won re-election Tuesday, were expected to be among the guests, AP reports.
Pomona police said the procession route will be as follows:
- Southbound Haven Avenue
- Westbound I-10 Freeway
- Southbound Garey Avenue
- Westbound Second Street
- Northbound White Avenue
- Westbound I-10 to Forest Lawn
Diamond was a 15-year law enforcement veteran who had served in Los Angeles and Montebello before joining the Pomona Police Department. He had been with SWAT for six years.
The suspect, 36-year-old David Martinez, was arrested and booked for attempted murder of a peace officer.
