Police arrest 2 men in connection with South LA restaurant shooting
Three adults were killed and a dozen more wounded following a shootout at a makeshift restaurant in South Los Angeles early Saturday, according to L.A. police.

Two men were arrested and will be booked on suspicion of murder in connection with a shooting at a makeshift Jamaican eatery in South Los Angeles Saturday that left three people dead and 12 wounded, police said.
Jamaican nationals Mowayne McKay, 33, and Diego Reid, 25, were arrested Sunday morning and will be booked on suspicion of murder, according to a Los Angeles Police Department news release.
The shooting began when one man pulled out a gun and shot another man after a dispute during a birthday party at the eatery in the 2900 block of Rimpau Street early Saturday morning, the release states.
"Immediately following the shooting of this one individual, several other shots were fired indiscriminately in the crowd, including some that appeared to be ‘return’ fire from other party-goers in the direction of the suspects," the release reads. "The initial shooter and at least one other associate, who is also believed to have fired in the crowd, fled the scene on foot."
Police did not specify what roles McKay and Reid allegedly played in the shooting.
Nine men and six women were hit by gunfire during the incident and three were pronounced dead at the scene, including one man who was involved in the initial confrontation, the release states. One of the people wounded remains in the hospital in "extremely critical condition" while most of the other victims have been released from the hospital, according to police.
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office is working to identify the victims and notify their next of kin so their identities are not yet available, the release states.
