It's National Hot Pastrami Day in LA: Celebrating a deli holiday

While widely accepted as not the pastrami capital of the world, Los Angeles is still more than a cold cut when it comes to deli delectables.
To celebrate National Hot Pastrami Day on Jan. 14, the local piled-high crowd will line up at the city's unofficial outpost, Langer's. But MacArthur Park is not the only option; there's plenty of peppered and partially-dried meat for everyone, and some of it's free.
The SacBee reports that Togo’s will give away up to 10,000 pastrami sandwiches on Tuesday. The West Coast company estimates they've sold more than 40 million pastrami sandwiches since 1971.
KCET previously put their finest faces into the sandwiches of the Southland for a roundup of "the best pastrami in L.A., from Thousand Oaks to Alhambra."
The late-Huell Howser hosted his own hunt for the city's perfect pastrami, and Chow.com came to the table with a kina hora for Katz's in New York, and a countdown of "Killer Pastramis" around Los Angeles.
