Parole board sends Dodger Stadium Giants fan beating suspect Ramirez back to prison
One man suspected of attacking San Francisco Giants fan Bryan Stow is headed back behind bars on a parole violation.
A parole board ordered 31-year-old Giovanni Ramirez to return to prison for 10 months. The panel ruled that Ramirez, convicted as a felon in a previous incident, broke parole regulations by carrying a firearm.
Police found the weapon on Ramirez when they arrested him May 22 as a suspect in the beating outside Dodger Stadium on opening day. Bryan Stow, a paramedic, remains in a hospital with serious brain damage.
LAPD Chief Charlie Beck maintains that he believes Ramirez participated in the attack. Ramirez's attorneys have denied that their client was at the Dodgers' opening day game when the incident occurred.
Prosecutors have not filed charges against Ramirez in connection with the beating.
