Original 'Halloween' film to be screened at South Pasadena Library

Check this out: South Pasadena Library is screening the original "Halloween" Thursday at 7 p.m.

The movie, rated R, is an independent film written and directed by John Carpenter and first released in 1978. Carpenter and his signature film are said to have had such a big impact on South Pasadena's economy and culture that the South Pasadena City Council declared Oct. 31, 2013 as John Carpenter Night

According to a press release, "The film is now considered very mild compared to other R-rated horror films, including the dozens of imitators that followed." Still, no one under 17 will be admitted.

Tickets are $10, and you can get yours online or at the door. Proceeds will go to Friends of the South Pasadena Library and the sCARE Foundation

The film will be shown in South Pasadena Library's community room. The library is located  at 1115 El Centro Street in South Pasadena.
