Orange County college students 1 of 5 US teams to reach international robotics finals
A group of college students from Orange County heads to New York City this Friday to take part in an international robotics competition.
The four students from Santiago Canyon College came up with a robotic work station that uses a wireless Internet network and GPS to help track resources, like water and food supplies, during a disaster. They’re one of 124 student teams chosen from more than 350,000 students from around the world for Microsoft’s Imagine Cup.
The Orange County team is one of five from this country that advanced to the finals. A team that includes students from UCLA also made it.
The Santiago Canyon College students will compete in their category against teams from more than a dozen countries, including China, Germany and Russia.
