Matik turns Santa Ana building into light show
Some local artists have turned Santa Ana's historic Spurgeon Building into an art display of sorts for the holiday season.
Matik, a graphic art group based in the greater Los Angeles area, is using the 1915 building at Fourth and Sycamore streets as a facade for an art display known as "electronic mapping." The technique uses the building's architecture, lasers lights and shadows to morph the building into a giant light show.

"Electronic mapping" is gaining popularity in Europe. The five-minute show in Orange County is the largest of its kind ever put on in the United States.
It runs every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night through December 27. But the show does not run when it rains.
