A mudslide shut down a section of the Pacific Coast Highway Sunday.
Updated 3/2: PCH reopens as storm moves over SoCal
Previously: A mudslide in Ventura County has shut down a section of the Pacific Coast Highway in both directions Sunday, Los Angeles Sheriffs officials said.
California Highway Patrol officials told the L.A. Times mud and debris flowed onto the road at about 5:40 a.m. Sunday morning after storms hit the area, forcing the closure of a 9-mile stretch of the iconic highway.
The Times reports:
A nine-mile stretch of the highway -- between Las Posas and Yerba Buena roads -- just reopened Friday after being closed in late November due to mud and rock slides. The months-long road closure was necessary to stabilize the road and make sure drivers were safe, California Highway Patrol officials said.
