Metro passenger bus shot in South Los Angeles

A passenger bus was shot at in South Los Angeles on Tuesday afternoon, L.A. Metro spokesperson Paul Gonzales tells KPCC. No one was injured in the shooting, Gonzales said.
It was reported at 3:40 p.m. at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Vermont Avenue, Gonzales said. The 40 line bus was shot as the bus was driving by a gunman on the street, according to eyewitnesses, bringing the bus to a halt several blocks to the east.
Several shots were fired, but authorities don't know if a passenger on the bus was being targeted or if it was someone on the street nearby, Gonzales said. Broken glass was found on the bus from bullets hitting the rear door.
Detectives interviewed people on the bus and received a description of the gunman, Gonzales said. A search is ongoing for both the gunman and his target.
