Long Beach gets its own LAX FlyAway buses

LAX's FlyAway buses began operating round-trip service to and from Los Angeles International Airport on Wednesday in Long Beach. Service will be offered from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. daily.
“We’re trying to serve the entire Los Angeles, Southern California area, and we have to do it in increments,” Marshall Lowe, LAX spokesman, said.
The service, which also operates out of Westwood, Santa Monica, Van Nuys, Union Station and Hollywood, shuttles passengers to every LAX terminal seven days a week.
The Long Beach bus stop is located along the Long Beach Transit Gallery at the corner of 1st Street and Long Beach Boulevard. A promotional one-way fare of $7 will be offered along the Long Beach route for six months.

While promotional fares are being offered for Long Beach passengers, a scheduled increase from $8 to $9 goes into effect Friday for Van Nuys and Union Station patrons. Another increase is scheduled for the same locations in January 2017 from $9 to $9.75.
Lowe said that the fare increases would reduce ongoing deficits for the bus network by $1.3 million.
Fares for all locations cover one adult, and you can add up to two children 5 years or younger free of any additional charge.
