Major League Soccer announced a new Los Angeles soccer team Thursday: the Los Angeles Football Club. The team will compete with L.A.'s existing soccer team, the L.A. Galaxy.
The team's ownership includes stars like Earvin "Magic" Johnson, Mia Hamm Garciaparra and Tony Robbins, but is led by businessmen Henry Nguyen and Peter Guber, according to an MLS press release.
The team is set to debut in 2017 in a brand new soccer stadium somewhere in the greater L.A. area, built specifically for the team, according to the release.
The new team Tweeted Thursday that it would be crowdsourcing its logo, name and kits. Ideas? Let us know in comments or on social media.
