Afternoon Expo disruptions displace passengers to buses
Passengers on the Metro Expo Line faced trip interruptions Thursday afternoon near USC. There’s been some damage to the electrical connections on two trains.
Metro spokesman Dave Sotero explained what happened on the light rail route.
"At approximately 2pm this afternoon, the Expo Line trains experienced damage on their pantographs," he said. "Trains are disabled between the 23rd Street Station and Expo Park Station. We do have a bus bridge operating to allow patrons to continue to on their journey on the Expo Line."
Passengers traveling to or from the 7th and Metro Station faced delays of at least 30 minutes.
Delays continued into the evening, but trains resumed normal service shortly before 6pm.
Expo Line Final Update: Trains resuming normal service; earlier issue resolved. TY for your patience. No other alerts at this time. ^ST
