LAX permanently closing long-term parking Lot B
The city agency that operates Los Angeles International Airport announced today the permanent closure of long-term parking Lot B starting Thursday, Jan. 7.
Updated 11:00 a.m.
Lot B will be consolidated with Lot E, which is used for employee parking, to expand the airport's employee parking capacity, according to Los Angeles World Airports' Treva Miller.
Passengers returning after the formal closure of the lot at 111th Street and La Cienega Boulevard will be able to retrieve their vehicles there through Jan. 31.
Instead of Lot B, travelers are encouraged to park in economy Lot C at 96th Street and Sepulveda Boulevard, Los Angeles World Airports said in a statement. Parking at Lot C is free for the first two hours and costs $1 for every two hours thereafter, up to a maximum daily rate of $12.
Free LAX Shuttle service is available 24-hours daily to transport travelers between Lot C and airline terminals.
