LAUSD teachers union rallies in Grand Park as contract negotiations continue
The union that represents Los Angeles Unified School District teachers says its members have been working for a year without a contract. That's why the union has escalated its demands, with members rallying near City Hall Thursday afternoon. The teachers want higher pay and smaller class sizes, among other changes. If the district and the union do not agree on a contract, union representatives say they may hold a strike authorization vote in the fall.
