LAPD officer under investigation for alleged sexual assault of minor

A veteran Los Angeles policewoman has been charged with faking military leave to get time off.
The officer, who was not identified by authorities, has been ordered to stay home during the investigation.

An officer with the Los Angeles Police Department is being investigated for the alleged sexual assault of a minor.

The LAPD has confirmed to KPCC that they initiated the investigation, but said detectives with the Torrance Police Department are now handling the case.

The officer, who was not identified by authorities, has been ordered to stay home during the investigation. The officer has not been arrested.

Authorities have not released any additional information.
