LA City Council members want more stable scheduling for retail workers
Hectic work schedules are common for retail employees in the city of Los Angeles. But a new proposal at city hall could lead to workers getting more predictable hours.
City Council members plan to introduce a motion Friday that could lead to new scheduling rules for the city's more than 147,000 retail workers. The policy would follow similar "fair workweek" legislation recently passed in cities such as San Francisco, Seattle and Emeryville.
