#ISeeChange: Show us how your natural environment is changing
The natural world in Southern California has been changing: Summers have been hotter, winters warmer and drier, and ocean temperatures are higher, drawing sea life usually seen in the tropics.
But are these examples of climate change or just natural variability?
We'd love for you to share with us how the local environment is affecting your everyday lives. For example:
Did you see that hail on Huntington Beach?
Instagram: Hail in Huntington Beach
Are the Monarch butterflies crowding on your milkweeds this winter?
When you dive in the kelp forests, how do they look?
When you walk in the forest, what do you see? Do you wonder where the big trees went?
#ISeeChange is part of a national effort to observe climate change and bring questions to scientists. Here are three ways you can contribute:
- Send our correspondent Molly Peterson a question that you’d like a scientist or expert to answer. She can be reached at mpeterson@scpr.org.
- Tweet or Instagram a photo of something you’ve seen changing in your local environment using the hashtag #ISeeChange. (And tag @KPCC!)
- Fill out this short set of questions via our Public Insight Network.
We can't wait to see the world through your eyes.
