Irvine FlyAway shuttle to begin in November
Los Angeles airport commissioners have set the date for a new shuttle service between Irvine and L.A. International Airport. The Irvine FlyAway revs up just in time for Thanksgiving and the winter holiday travel season.
Starting Nov. 16, travelers will be able to ride from Irvine Station on Barranca Parkway to L.A. International Airport for $25 each way. This is the fourth bus route for the FlyAway – it’s already running trips to and from the airport and L.A. Union Station, Van Nuys, and Westwood.
The buses, with room for luggage, are supposed to ease traffic and parking congestion at the Southland’s busiest airport. L.A. airport officials say the Irvine FlyAway will offer 500 spaces at which travelers can park free for up to 30 days.
The start date for the shuttle coincides with a hike in parking fees at the airport. Beginning Nov. 19, it’ll cost $2 more a day than it does now to use the economy lots.

Airport commissioners approved the increase to help pay for the cost of maintaining those lots, and the free shuttle that moves passengers between there and the terminals.
