Freezing temps, wind advisory in effect for SoCal
Strong northeast winds and below freezing temperatures are expected across Los Angeles and Ventura Counties Monday night and Tuesday morning, according to The National Weather Service.
Damaging wind gusts of 60 to 65 MPH are expected in the mountains, as well as Santa Clarita Valley, with the wind chill expected to drop anywhere between 0 and 5 degrees through late Tuesday.
Northeast wind waves of 4 to 6 feet are expected to affect Avalon Harbor and Smugglers Cove creating hazardous conditions for boaters.
Despite the cold conditions, the NWS says the dry weather can cause a fire danger of critical levels. Its wind advisory in is effect through noon Tuesday.
