A $20,000 reward was being offered for information leading to the arrest of a man charged with the torture and murder of his estranged wife in Pacoima, the FBI announced today.

Napoleon E. Castro, 35, is wanted in connection with the May 1 slaying of 33-year-old Olga Martinez, the mother of Castro’s three teenagers, said Laura Eimiller, a spokeswoman for the FBI.

FBI investigators believe that Castro may have fled California and are working with local law enforcement to expand the search outside of the state, Eimiller said.

According to the FBI, Martinez’s bloodied body was found lying near her garage. She had been stabbed multiple times.

The FBI believes that the fugitive may have gone to Worcester, Mass. and El Salvador, where he has ties. Castro is a native of El Salvador.

Castro should be considered armed and dangerous, Eimiller said.

Castro has several tattoos, including a female face and a male clown face on his left arm; a naked female on his right arm; the words “Eddie Castro Jr.” and “OLGA on his chest; a hornet on the left side of his chest; “Born A Sinner” on his left arm; and “Die a Sinner” on his right arm, Eimiller said.

Eimiller said Castro also has a horizontal scar on his chin and a vertical scar from his abdomen to his chest.

The defendant was charged with murder and torture in the Los Angeles Superior Court. A warrant for his arrest was issued in May, Eimiller said.
