Explosion in downtown LA high rise leaves 5 injured

Los Angeles Fire officials were investigating what might have caused an explosion in the lower floors of an office building in downtown Los Angeles Thursday night. 

The blast took place at a 19-story high rise at 811 W Wilshire Boulevard and ignited a fire and caused "significant structural damage," according to the L.A. Fire Dept..

The department reports five adults were treated for non-life threatening injuries. 

ABC 7 reported the explosion left areas downtown, including Staples Center, briefly without power:
