Carmageddon, Slow Jam? Name the next, great traffic jam

Carmageddon, Slow Jam? Name the next, great traffic jam
Southern California drivers will want to be on alert over the next few weeks for some big road closures that are sure to snarl traffic.
A triple whammy of major highway and street closures will start Friday night with a 55-hour closure of four blocks at the intersection of 1st Street and Alameda Street in Little Tokyo.
Alameda will be closed between 3rd Street and Temple Street, while 1st Street will be closed between Central Avenue and Vignes Street from 9 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday.
The same streets will be closed the following weekend for 55 hours as well.
Also next weekend, 2.5 miles of the 101 freeway will be closed south of downtown Los Angeles for the demolition of the 6th Street bridge. Officials are calling it the "Slow Jam." Avoid the area between the intersection of I-10 and the interchange of the 5, 10 and 101 freeways.
Drivers heading west on State Route 60 won't be able to exit onto the 101, but they can take the I-5 north or take I-710 north to connect with I-10.
Those driving west on the 101 to downtown should exit onto I-110 southbound and connect to I-10 from there.

No word yet on what to call a shutdown of the busy State Route 91 in Corona — that’s coming the third weekend of February.
The 91 will be closed between the 71 freeway and I-15 starting at 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, and reopening at 4 a.m. Monday, Feb. 22. Officials are warning delays could reach up to four hours in the area. Your options for a drive-around: the 57 or 60 freeways or I-10.
